Jersey Auctions

5 Jersey Auctions Took Place in 2021!

One of our most popular in-game fundraisers were our jersey auctions. We had 5 total jersey auctions in our inaugural season which consisted of a different themed jersey that players and coaches wore on the field. Throughout the game, fans near & far had the opportunity to bid on a game-worn jersey. 2021's jerseys featured:

  • Armed Forces Jersey (Northrop Grumman)
  • Space Jersey (Lockheed Martin)
  • 90s Night Jersey
  • Hero Jersey
  • Huntsville Havoc Jersey

Over $65,000 was raised with proceeds benefitting Still Serving Veterans, the US Space and Rocket Center Education Foundation, Kids to Love, and the Rocket City Trash Pandas Foundation.

Dog Days

Pups at the Park for a Purpose!

Every Wednesday, fans were invited to bring their four-legged friends to the park for our Dog Day. For a $1 donation to an animal-related nonprofit, dogs were allowed entry and all proceeds went back to the nonprofit of the night. This season, we hosted 10 Dog Days.

  • Organizations included Felines and Canines Rescue Center, New Leash on Life, Greater Huntsville Humane Society, Friends of Rescue Inc, and Sartec K-9 Unit.
  • Over $760 was raised throughout the season for the rescues.

Non-Profit concessions fundraising

Volunteers at Toyota Field

NPO’s had the opportunity to fundraise for their organization during games by volunteering in our concession stands. Each volunteer in attendance was paid by the hour with that money directly benefitting the organization. A total of $47,230 was raised through our concessions program.

Thank you to all of our volunteers:  305 8th Street, Bob Jones AFJROTC, Bob Jones Soccer, Bob Jones Wrestling, Friends of Rescue Inc, Madison Academy Soccer, NALZS, Simply United Together, Temple Lodge #98, and John Paul II.

Collection Drives

One home game a month, fans were asked to bring various items for our different collection drives. All items were donated to local nonprofit organizations. Recipients of the drives included:

  • Toiletries- Downtown Rescue Mission on May 30
  • School Supplies- Madison City Schools on June 16
  • Toys- Christmas Charities Year Round on July 25
  • Canned Food- North Alabama Food Bank on September 5

Mascot Appearances

In addition to Trash Pandas games, Sprocket made numerous appearances at special events in the community over the last year.

Visits included schools, Little League opening days, trade shows, Huntsville Havoc games, Trash Panda partners, and delivering meals to those in need!

Player Appearances

  • In mid-June, we hosted our week-long day camp with 200 campers that featured activities such as wiffleball, arts and crafts, science experiments, and a Q&A with Trash Panda players Torii Hunter Jr., David MacKinnon, and Dalton Pompey.

  • At the end of July, we held our first ever Youth Instructional Camp with Trash Panda players. Broken up into various groups, kids ages 8-10 were able to learn baseball fundamentals and skills from players including Luis Aviles Jr., Connor Higgins, Keith Rogalla, Izzy Wilson, and Ibandel Isabel.

  • In August, several Trash Panda players participated in a calendar photoshoot with rescue animals from New Leash on Life to help pups find their forever home!

Food Drives

Refuge Church and One Gen Away, along with Madison City Schools and local churches held four drive-through food distribution events at Toyota Field.

Over 40,000 pounds of food was given out at each event. This allowed over 2,500 families to receive much-needed food to fill their pantry during the pandemic.

Field Trips & Ballpark Tours

  • Throughout the year, the Trash Pandas hosted school groups ranging from elementary to college for a behind-the-scenes tour of the park. Stops on the tour included the Trash Pandas clubhouse, press box, visitors’ clubhouse, dugouts, and luxury suites.

  • In June, we hosted Madison City Schools’ English Learners Camp for a few hours of fun with activities such as wiffleball, a behind-the-scenes tour of the ballpark, and writing greeting cards to our players.
